Custodex was born from one of the most difficult experiences of my life.
My father lived independently. Like many families, we believed that if something serious happened, someone would notice quickly.
Sadly, that wasn't the case.
My father passed away, and our family did not know for two days.
No family should have to experience the shock, heartbreak and unanswered questions that come from discovering a loved one has been alone for so long.
That experience stayed with me. It made me ask a simple question:
What if there was a respectful way to know that someone was safe without taking away their independence?
That question became Custodex.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help people live independently with confidence while giving their families, friends and trusted contacts greater peace of mind.
Custodex is built around a simple idea: regular wellbeing check-ins combined with a personalised safety plan.
People choose when they would like to check in. If a scheduled check-in is missed, Custodex follows the user's chosen escalation plan by notifying their trusted contacts according to the preferences they have set.
We believe that technology should support independence, not replace it.

While Custodex was inspired by my own family's loss, our purpose reaches far beyond one story.
Millions of people live independently, including older adults, people recovering from illness, individuals with disabilities, lone workers and students living away from home. Each deserves the confidence of knowing that someone will know if something isn't right.
