What starts an alert?
An alert can be triggered in two ways: you press the SOS button when you need help, or you miss a scheduled check-in and the grace period passes without a response.
Who receives the alert?
Only the trusted contacts you add to your account. You decide who is notified, in what order, and how (email and/or SMS).
How is my location handled?
Location is shared only when you choose, during an active alert or when you turn on live location sharing. It is not tracked continuously in the background.
Can I cancel a false alarm?
Yes. If you trigger SOS by mistake, you can cancel it before the grace period ends so no alert is sent to your contacts.
What happens when nobody responds?
Custodex escalates to the next contact on your list. Your emergency plan, with important information and instructions, is shown to whoever acknowledges the alert.
Do I need a special device?
No. Custodex runs on the phone you already own. There is no extra hardware to buy or install.
